Blue Daisy
00 / Project Description
Blue Daisy is a multi-functional fine jewelry collection consist of earrings, pendant and ring all interchangeably. It is designed to be elegant, versatile and technical, yet effortlessly feminine. It is specifically created for the wearer who loves to mix and match jewelries for different occasions. The structural choices of gemstones feature deep blue sapphires for the petals and vibrant yellow sapphires at the center, all beautifully set in polished white gold.

01 / MOOD EXPLORATION
The concept balances a classic aesthetic with a trendy, modern edge. Inspiration was drawn directly from the blue daisy flower, a bloom whose coloration is rare and unique when compared to traditional pink or peach daisies. This mystical dark blue, set in contrast with a bright yellow center, best represents the core identity of the collection. The ultimate goal is to cater to modern workwear while effortlessly transitioning into after-work social scenes. Just like a working adult who plays different roles throughout the day, the collection is entirely transformable, offering a continuous sense of freshness, adaptability and creativity.
02 / HAND SKETCHING
This phase involved deep exploration into different petal configurations, gemstone layouts, design structures and precise placements. Extensive sketching was done to test various wearing methods and setting styles. To solve the numerous angles and complex technical considerations such as locking and hinges mechanism required for this multi-functional jewelry collection, physical clay, modeling paper-cut and wax techniques were utilized during the thinking and prototyping process.
03 / PRECISION BLUEPRINT
Following numerous modifications, the final designs were translated into technical drawings ready to be sent to the manufacturer. The most challenging aspect of this phase was engineering the technical components of the connector and hook system, which needed to be highly practical yet entirely unnoticeable. Careful consideration was also given to the weight distribution and the dangle effect on the ears. Rather than applying traditional butterfly studs, a custom round stud with an added stabilizing circle was created to prevent the earrings from drooping. This milestone was achieved through multiple rounds of trial and error, alongside constant, precise communication with the manufacturing team.
04 / GOUACHE RENDERING
To ensure a flawless presentation and a comprehensive understanding of production process, gouache renderings were executed. These drawings showcase the jewelry from different views and explicitly explain the hidden functional mechanisms of the transformable pieces.
