"In Chinese tradition, Chinese knot is a symbol of love of eternity or commonly people just say tying a knot. Traditionally, it acts as a good luck charm for newly wedding couples. The word “knot” in Chinese is 结 (jie) and carry few auspicious meanings. For example, “to marry” 结婚 (jiehun), “to unite” 团结 (tuanjie) and “to bear fruits” 结果 (jieguo). Family that gives a knot to a couple is for all the blessings and having children as well. Imagine the happiness of the family finally seeing her starting her own family. Therefore, the gift is very sentimental symbolizing family blessings to both bride and groom. It is an heirloom piece. There is Ruby in it carry auspiciousness and also meant for nobility, purity, and passion. The bangle can be worn both ways for different occasions, one side with the knot and the otherside without the knot."
Purple Orchid Design Exhibited The second selected designer collection, Purple Orchid is in West University of Timisoara, Romania physical exhibition. For more info, check out https://www.uvt.ro/.../interdesign-2020-design-the-future/. Here is what our designer says about the collection. "Purple orchid is easily grown in tropical forest and we are proud as Malaysia has the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. This simple yet elegant flower has its attractiveness that is the reason why I like it in my house for more than 10 years. It has also continuous blooming all year round making my day more beautiful. And I like orchid because it can last longer than many types of flower. Purple orchids also symbolize royalty and admiration and are traditionally given as a sign of respect. One day while I was admiring my garden and I felt blissful as this pot of purple orchid has stayed with me for such a long time. I took a closer look on the vibrant color from the petals and realized the shape are unique and inspired to design a jewelry collection with purple and white flora theme. Thus, I have chosen Amethyst with different shapes and Pearl as the core of the flower for this collection.
University Design Exhibition The first selected designer collection, Hotspring is in West University of Timisoara, Romania physical exhibition. For more info, check out https://www.uvt.ro/.../interdesign-2020-design-the-future/. Here is what our designer says about the collection. "We are blessed that in Malaysia we have never experience volcano eruption, but we have hot spring. Many people believed that bathing hotspring can provide healing for rheumatism, skin problems, blood circulation and other health benefits. To me it is
simply therapeutic. The inspiration was drawn from the hot water bubbles that occurs in hot spring giving the wearer the feel of being in a hot spring. And the outer shape is like a pond that naturally build up when water came from the underground. Choices of gemstones are Aquamarine, Blue Topaz and Kunzite factoring the color of natural hot spring." Gem Identification
As most gemstones are small in size, we use microscope and magnifying glasses to better observe the imperfections such as inclusions and fractures. A microscope from 10X up to 70X can be used for more detailed observation. This instrument can be used to observe the cleavage planes, growth lines, color bandings, surface graining, and the degree of external polishing. Sometimes they can also identify layers of assembled stones. Tahitian pearls from the Pinctada Margaritifera or Black-lip pearl oyster species farmed in French Polynesian islands surrounding Tahiti, are popular for exotic black colors. It ranges from silver to grey, pistachio, iridescent peacock, chocolate and black. It has become some of the most sought-after, expensive pearls in the world. Because of their vast color range, matching these pearls into a finished strand is an enormous task requiring thousands of loose pearls to create a single strand. Feel free to contact us for enquiries and consultation. Black Opal Gemstone
Black opal is appeared to be translucent to opaque, with play-of-color against a black or dark background. It’s considered to be the rarest, whereas white, gray, and green are the most common. It has been reported that Northern African opal was used to make tools as early as 4000 BC. The first discovery of opal was from Ethiopia in 1994, precious opal appeared in the Menz Gishe District, North Shewa Province. Just like the white opal, the black opal is found at the contact zone between the volcanic rock series and the underlying clay-rich layer. They often in demand because the color contrast is much greater against the dark background. Watermelon Tourmaline Gemstone

A single tourmaline can contain up to 15 different colours or shades being nicknamed as the “Rainbow Gem”, gem of October babies.
