Blue Zircon Gemstone
Zircon vs Zirconia. Zircon is made of zirconium silicate, whereas cubic zirconia is made of zirconium oxide. Chemically, optically and structurally, zircon and cubic zirconia don’t share any similarities. Zircon is a natural gemstone and Zirconia is man-made stone. Zircon found in Cambodia, Burma and Sri Lanka as well as in Brazil, Australia and East Africa. Blue is the most popular zircon color, followed by honey, red and white. It is regarded as the December birthstone. Zircon is the only naturally occurring gemstone that is so similar in appearance to diamonds. It can also rival diamonds with its brilliance as it plays excellently with light, making it a brilliant and fiery stone. And because zircons are natural, they can often contain inclusions or other flaws just like diamond.
